Epiphany – Second Sunday
This sermon will be all about the importance of listening – really listening – for the voice of God in our lives. Epiphanies, whether they are sudden or gradual, require that we clear away distraction and truly pay attention.
For all churches, it means we must pay attention to what the world is trying to say and how God is speaking to us through the growing numbers of nones (those with no church affiliation) and dones (those who have given up a church affiliation). Since this is the Sunday before MLK, Jr. Day. we’ll also explore the connection between the beginning of the decline of organized religion in the 1960s and its failure, by and large, to listen to the needs of those for whom Dr. King spoke.
Join us for a worship service that blends modern and traditional music with intelligent, engaging sermons in a joyful, lively celebration of God’s love. Ample parking, childcare and activities for older children offered.
